Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Providers

May 2007

The Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) Program gives parents of 4 year olds in Florida the choice of placing their children in a high-quality early learning program. Due to funding provided by the Florida Legislature, the program is free to Florida residents. During its first year the VPK Program has served 106,999 children in the State.  In Okaloosa and Walton Counties, we have served 1,308 children for the 2005-2006 program year, and to date in 2006-2007 we served 1,237, with registration continuing for the Summer VPK Program.

The Early Learning Coalition of Okaloosa and Walton Counties is pleased to introduce the providers that have accepted the challenge of providing pre-kindergarten services to our four-year-olds for the 2007-2008 school year.  These providers are certified (only if certification date is displayed). Provisional providers (no certification date showing) are in-process of proving their eligibility to provide the VPK Program. The Coalition will update the website to announce certifications of other providers and also to add to the list of provisional applicants as the information is determined.  The ELC does not guarantee that provisional providers will be able to complete the certification process.

It is the Coalition’s goal that all children in Okaloosa, and Walton Counties will enter school fully prepared for educational success.  Please know that we have the health, safety, and well being of your child as our focus in this program’s delivery.

Parents should obtain printed copies of the application to begin their child’s enrollment.  Click on the link to the left (Pre-K Signup) to see other details for completing the registration process.

Sincerely,
